On THURSDAY November 25 at 11.00 at cinema Artis
Black Nights Film Festival in association with Youth Assembly of Ethnic Minoritieshas put together the film programme „People Next Door“, which brings to the viewers movies from all over the world: Russia, Belarus, China, South Korea, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Germany and Ukraine.
The movies will be introduced and a photo exhibition dedicated to young and successful minorities will be opened. Comments will be given by the head of BNFF Tiina Lokk, project manager of the film programme Yuliya Sokolova and the organiser of the photo exhibition Vahur Orrin.
On THURSDAY November 25 at 14.00 at Coca Cola Plaza, A. Le Coq suite
Press conference of the Finnish delegation. This year, the festival will be focused on Finnish cinema. Present will be Katja Kukkola, lead actress of the movie Princess, which is competing in the EurAsia programme. The international premiere of the movie will take place at BNFF on November 25 at 20.00 at Coca-Cola Plaza screen 2. Also present at the press conference will be Vesa-Matti Loiri, who received the lifetime achievement award at the opening ceremony of BNFF. The documentary Veskufrom Finland (directed by Mika Kaurismäki), based on Loiri’s life, can be seen on November 25 at 19.00 at cinema Sõprus.
On TUESDAY November 30 at 14.00 at Coca Cola Plaza, A. Le Coq suite
Press conference of the North American delegation. Present will be the director of the movie Twelve Thirty Jeff Lipsky and Karen Young, an actress from the same movie. The official international premiere of Twelve Thirty will take place at BNFF on November 28 at 17.30 at Coca-Cola Plaza screen 9. The movie can also be seen on November 30 in Cinamon in Tartu and on December 3 in cinema Kosmos.
Also present will be Joseph Infantolino, director of the movie Helena from the Wedding.The East European premiere of the movie will take place at BNFF on November 29 at 17.30 at Coca-Cola Plaza screen 9, the movie can later be seen on December 3 in the lecture room of Kumu and on December 4 in cinema Artis. Two American members of the jury will also be present: a member of the jury of the competition programme EurAsia David Willis and a member of the jury of the North American indies competition programme, director Brad Jurjens, who is originally from Estonia. The press conference will be moderated by Sandy Mandelberger, organiser of the North American indies programme.
On WEDNESDAY December 1 at 14.00 at Nordic Hotel
This year at Black Market Industry Screenings and the co-production market Baltic Event, the focus will be on the cinema of Russia. Because of this, several important film-makers and producers from Russia will be arriving in Tallinn, where they will be introducing their new work and new projects. The events will start on the afternoon of December 1 with the Industry Day open panel about the state of of Russian movie industry, co-production and movie propagation. The panel will be directed by producer Sergei Schlijants (Pygmalion Production). Also participating in the panel will be such Russian producers as Sergei Seljanov (Art Pictures Studio), Andrei Sigle (ProLine Film), Dimitri Messhjev (Russian World Studios) and the acting producer of My Joy, a movie competing in BNFF’s competing programme Olena Jershova from Ukraine.

Announcement of the winners of the competition programmers.Comments will be given by the jurys.
Also, actors from the programme Shooting Stars, which visits BNFF this year, will be introduceng. The shooting stars will be introduced by the project manager of the programme Karin Dix, also present will be Kryštof Hadek (Czech Republic), star of the movie 3 Seasons in Hell, which is also competing in the EurAsia programme, and one of the leads of the movie Hellsinki Pihla Viitala (Soome).
Present at BNFF will also be Shooting Stars Lotte Verbeek from the movie Nothing Personal (nominee of the EFA award for best female lead, Netherlands), Agata Buzek from Reverse (Poland), Michele Riondino from Marpiccolo (Italy) and Edward Hogg from Ollie Kepler’s Expanding Purple World (Great Britain).
