Brussels Philharmonic with the lead of Dirk Brossé has for a long time cooperated with World Soundtrack Academy, the Ghenti Film Festival and European Film Academy to arrange film music concerts and to present renown composers of film music.
The guest of honour of this concert – composer Gabriel Yared, winner of Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe and many other awards – will also take the stage in Tallinn.
Born in Lebanon Yared started his career in France with writing music for Jean-Luc Godard's "Sauve qui peut la vie”. His extensive work includes scores for films like ”The English Patient”, ”The Talented Mr Ripley”, ”Cold Mountain”, ”The Lives of Others”, "Coco & Igor" etc.
On 4 December Gabriel Yared will receive European Achievement in World Cinema Award 2010 at the 23rd European Film Awards Ceremony in Tallinn.
